Filed under: WritingExcellence — preciseedit @ 2:19 pm

This is the information and reviewer agreement letter we used when soliciting reviewers for 300 Days of Better Writing. I’m posting it here in case you are also seeking reviewers and are unsure what information to send to prospective reviewers.

We put this information on company letterhead and included an image of the book cover after the first paragraph in the “about the book” section. Some soliciations will also include chapter titles and summaries, if appropriate.

Dear XXXX:

I am publishing a new writing guide, 300 Days of Better Writing, and I am seeking reviewers capable of judging the quality and usefulness of the content.

Please let me know if you are willing to review 300 Days of Better Writing. I will gladly send you a review copy of the book. Also, you are welcome to contact me directly by e-mail at dbowman@preciseedit.com or by phone at 505-603-3411.

About the book:

300 Days of Better Writing contains 300 strategies for writing clearly, purposefully, and correctly. Each day’s lesson presents one strategy, accompanied by explanations and examples. Topics are intertwined to allow readers to practice one strategy before reading another strategy on the same topic. Broad topics are presented as a series of specific strategies, which are distributed throughout the guide. Each lesson contains a cross-reference guide to help readers find other strategies on the same topic, and the book contains a topic index.

The primary market for this book is business professionals who seek to improve their written communications. The secondary market is graduate students and others who are concerned about their ability to write well.

300 Days of Better Writing will be published by Cereb Press and will be available for sale by late summer. The Kindle version is currently available on Amazon.com and through our book sales site, http://hostileediting.com.
